Tasmania's High Rates of Chronic Disease
POLICY: Are you concerned about Tasmania’s high rates of chronic disease and health risk factors like smoking, obesity, poor nutrition, low physical activity levels and risky alcohol consumption? Then the Tasmanian Government and Health Council of Tasmania would like to hear from you.
Individuals and peak groups are invited to attend community forums being held next week across the State to discuss the Healthy Tasmania Five Year Strategic Plan – Community Consultation Draft (the draft plan).
Developed under the Healthy Tasmania policy, the draft plan is the next step in ensuring a healthier future for all Tasmanians. The consultation draft outlines a number of key priorities including smoking, obesity, and improving heath literacy.
You are welcome to come and take part in discussions about the proposed new approaches to preventative health in Tasmania. The forums will provide stakeholders and community groups an opportunity to provide feedback on the draft plan. You can register your interest in attending any of the forums by contacting ahealthytasmania@dhhs.tas.gov.au
