Beyond Competition: Successful Social Strategies That Keep Girls in Sport

Girls’ participation in sport doesn’t always thrive through competition alone — connection, friendship, identity, and belonging play a critical role in keeping girls engaged. This webinar explores how both traditional and non-traditional sports are successfully creating social participation pathways that better reflect what many girls are looking for beyond the scoreboard.

Featuring Lara from Basketball Tasmania and Pixie from She Shreds Australia (skateboarding), this session will unpack two highly successful models to girls’ participation that prioritise community, confidence, and social connection alongside movement. By comparing strategies from both basketball and skateboarding, attendees will gain practical insights into how social models can complement competitive structures, improve retention, and create more inclusive opportunities for girls to stay involved in sport in ways that genuinely resonate with them.

Reflections on Leadership: From Olympian to Coach to Changemaker

Leadership in sport is rarely defined by one moment — it evolves through experience, challenge, reinvention, and the courage to grow. In this engaging conversation, Liz Jack will share the lessons that shaped her journey through elite sport, Olympic competition, coaching, and leadership, exploring how resilience, trust, independence, and adaptability have guided each stage of her career.

Drawing on her experiences across high performance sport, coaching, and broader leadership roles, Liz will reflect on the importance of developing not only successful athletes, but resilient people, stronger leaders, and sustainable pathways. Pelvic Health in High-Impact Sports: Prevention, Performance and Practical Support

This practical webinar explores the often-overlooked reality of pelvic floor dysfunction in women’s sports, particularly in high-impact environments.  And why ignoring it can affect participation, confidence, performance, and long-term athlete wellbeing.

Presented by Women’s Health Physiotherapist (and hockey player) Hannah from The Pelvic Studio, this session will help sporting leaders, coaches, and administrators better understand common warning signs, reduce stigma, and implement practical strategies that support female athletes beyond simply “putting up with it.”

From prevention and education to training considerations, strength strategies, referral pathways, and real-world team applications, this webinar will provide actionable tools to help clubs and organisations better support women and girls in sport.
