Calling all coaches: Applications for the 2026-27 Women in Sport Coaching Scholarships are now open. If you're a woman coach in Tasmania and you're serious about your development and ready to take the next step, this is the opportunity you've been waiting for.

The Women in Sport Coaching (WSC) Scholarships are a partnership between Womensport and Recreation Tasmania (WSRT) and the Tasmanian Institute of Sport (TIS), have been running for over a decade. The WSC Scholarships offer opportunities that support Tasmanian coaches to grow their capability and progress within the high-performance sporting landscape.

Delivered through the TIS Coaching Centre (TCC) Scholarship Program, the program provides scholarship recipients with development support including:

• Enhancing existing coaching knowledge, experience, and capability

• Networking and mentoring opportunities

• Development and implementation of an individual coach development plan

• Exposure to contemporary coaching science and best practice

• Access to intra and interstate camps, competitions, professional development activities, and live coaching observations

• Building confidence and capability within high-performance environments

• Access to collaborative relationships and key performance partners

​This scholarship is for coaches who are committed to athlete development and lifelong learning, and who are ready to take the next step in their coaching journey.
